Refusing to bow to stereotypes of the typical Lao woman Aluna is a fiercely creative and independent songwriter. Influenced by western pop from the 60s and 70s as well as her travels in Europe and Australia, Aluna’s music subtly pushes the boundaries of conservative Lao society. Since the release of her self-titled album Aluna has toured Lao, Japan and the US promoting her music and exposing audiences to new forms of Lao music.
