Lao’s first international rockstars, Cells popularity has grown exponentially following the release of their second album ‘Saew (Noise)’. Combining rock, metal and pop with traditional Lao music, Saew proved a revelation to to a generation of Lao teenagers who have grown up with imported popular culture from Thailand, Vietnam and the west. The album and hit singles ‘Waan’ and ‘Leuk Leuk’ have been hugely successful in Lao and have also made a big impact on neighbouring Thailand where Cells are becoming a household name after receiving heavy rotation and top 20 chart positions on radio, Channel V and MTV as well as many local Thai music channels. Drawing crowds in their thousands Cells have toured Thailand and Lao relentlessly since the release of the album, cementing their fanbase and honing their performance skills ahead of returning to the studio for their highly anticipated third album.
